Meet the Farm

Four Flowers Farms is an extension of the garden Jon and Amy started over 25 years ago with the birth of their first flower, Violette. Excited to grow our family garden, we added Lily, Dahlia, and finally Rosie. As the girls grew, so did our passion for flowers.

In 2021, Jon and Amy decided to explore a whole new terrain, and Four Flowers Farm was born out of our dream to keep growing, loving, and celebrating flowers.

Violette

Violette

Our eldest daughter is as sweet as the wood violets that share her name. Violette loves all flowers but among her favorites are sweet peas, dahlias, roses and lilies. As a bilingual school speech and language pathologist in the suburbs of Chicago, Violette’s schedule affords her lots of time in the summer to help out at the farm, where her favorite chore is weeding.

Lily

Lily

Our second daughter is a medical student whose favorite flowers include gomphrena, dahlias, lavender and gladiolas. Lily is as joyful as the lilies of the valley she was named for, and her easy laugh is much appreciated on hardworking farm days. Lily is 1/2 of our best compost moving team and we appreciate her excellent work ethic when she can break away from her busy schedule to help us out.

Dahlia

Dahlia

Our third daughter is just as beautiful as the flower she is named for. Small and mighty, she is the other half of our most powerful compost moving team. She is an excellent frog catcher and often carries her frog buddies while she works. Dahlia’s favorite flowers are gomphrena, snapdragons, and dahlias. Dahlia’s college is only a ½ hour drive away, so it is a happy Sunday when she pulls into the farm driveway for a visit.

Rosalie

Rosalie

The ancient Greeks considered the rose a gift from the gods, which is certainly how we feel about our fourth daughter. A beloved baby sister, Rosie’s favorite thing to do at the farm is to chat while harvesting flowers. We hope Rosie’s current studies in civil engineering will one day help us incorporate some innovative farm infrastructure. Her favorite flowers include gladiolas, roses, dahlias, zinnias and sunflowers.
